Directions to Jeffersonville, Vermont

Driving Directions: 

Note: Vermont Route 108 from Stowe is CLOSED for the winter, between November and April. The Vermont Department of Transportation maintains a website updated with the latest road conditions, including the closure of VT Rt 108. Please check it for updates during bad weather.

From the Burlington, VT Airport: As you leave the Airport, turn left, and continue to the first traffic light. Turn left onto Route 2 (Williston Road). After approximately two miles the road will Y, (just past Earthy Cars). Get in left hand lane and turn left onto Industrial Avenue. Continue on Industrial Avenue until the light (approximately two miles) and turn left on Route 2A.

Stay on Route 2A, moving into the right hand lane when possible. Continue until you arrive at a five-way intersection. You are now in Essex Junction. Bear right and continue onto Route 15 East until you get into Jeffersonville (about 20 miles). You will be traveling out into the countryside, passing through Jericho, Underhill, and Cambridge. Route 15 twists and turns so make sure to follow the road markers for Route 15. The main village of Jeffersonville is a right hand turn at the Mobil station.

New York City: (6 hours) Follow the New York Thruway, I-87 N through Albany, NY to Exit 20. Take NY 149E to Fort Ann. Take Rt. 4 through Whitehall to the Vermont border. Look for signs for Fair Haven and Vergennes. Take Rt. 22 A North to Vergennes. At that point, take Rt 7 north (not east) to Burlington, and then Rt 189 to 89 north to exit 15 which is Rt. 15 east to Jeffersonville. Stay on Rt. 15 East for about 28 miles.

New York City (popular route, 6hrs). Take I-95 N from New York City to New Haven CT. Pick up I-91 N through Hartford, CT, Springfield MA and Brattleboro, VT to White River Jct. VT. Pick up I-89 N through Montpelier to Waterbury…then follow the Winter or Summer directions below.

Boston (4 hours). Take I-93 N to Concord, NH. Pick up I-89 N through White River Jct., Montpelier and Waterbury Vermont. Then follow the Winter or Summer directions below.

Montreal (2 hours). Take Champlain Bridge to Hwy 10 E, continue 9 miles. Take exit 22 for Hwy 35 S. Hwy 35 S merges with Hwy 133 S in Iberville. Follow this route to the Vermont border; there it turns to VT  I-89. Follow VT I-89 S to St. Albans, Vermont. Take exit 19 (second exit for St. Albans) onto VT Rt. 104 S. Follow 104 S through Fairfax to Cambridge, pick up VT Rt. 15 E to Jeffersonville.

Seasonal Directions

In Winter: Take Exit 10 off  VT I-89 in Waterbury. Follow VT Rt. 100 N through Stowe to Morrisville. In Morrisville, pick up VT Rt. 15 W to Jeffersonville. Enter the village by turning left at the blinking light junction of Rt. 108 S. If staying at Sterling Ridge Resort you will pass their turn off before entering the village. Please see their website for directions. For Smugglers’ Notch Inn and Smugglers’ Notch Resort, you will enter the village. The Inn is located at 55 Church St. For Smugglers’ Notch Resort, enter the village, following Route 108 South. Continue through the village bearing left at the tricky three-way intersection. Continue up the mountain about 5 miles until you see the resort on your left.

In Summer: Take Exit 10 off VT I-89 in Waterbury. Follow VT Rt. 100 N to Stowe Village. In Stowe, pick up VT Rt. 108 N through Smugglers’ Notch Pass. Once you are over the mountain, you will pass Smugglers’ Notch Resort on the right. Keep going north into Jeffersonville village. The Smugglers’ Notch Inn will be straight ahead of you on your left after proceeding through the tricky little three-way intersection. For Sterling Ridge Resort, it’s best to use the directions from their website.
